Blue Tanto: Design and finishes

This blue Japanese tanto with a Damascus steel blade is available with a custom sharpening option. The black lacquered saya contrasts well with the blue and white sageo on the handle. The wooden tsuka and PU white samegawa offer a comfortable grip, while the blue braided tsuka-ito forms a diamond pattern revealing a gold ornament.

The small round golden tsuba, meticulously carved with floral patterns, adds a traditional touch. The gilded brass habaki adds a refined finish to the junction between blade and tsuka. The balanced dimensions of the blade, measuring 33 cm long, 0.7 cm thick and 3.2 cm wide, contribute to the functionality and beauty of this sharp Japanese tanto. With a total length of 50 cm including scabbard, this mini katana weighs around 0.8 kg.
