Blue Wakizashi: Design and finishes

This blue wakizashi with its 1045 steel blade, revealing a wave-shaped hamon, is offered with a sharpening option. The wooden saya is lacquered in a blue with a turquoise sheen, while the sageo is in a lighter blue highlighting the scabbard.

The handle, or tsuka, is made of wood and PU white samegawa, surrounding a gold menuki. The diamond-shaped blue tsuka-ito, braided above the handle, provides a firm grip. The gold and black tsuba is in the shape of a large, rounded cross with a dragon carved on it. The blade of this wakizashi is held in place by a gilded brass habaki. Weighing around 1 kg, this blue wakizashi comes complete with its scabbard.
