Shinpi Katana Sword: design and finishes

The Shinpi (神秘) katana sword, meaning Mystery, is characterized by its Damascus steel blade, renowned for its sturdiness and undulating beauty. The striated black lacquered wood saya lends a sober, refined elegance. The handle is wrapped in imitation white stingray skin and offers a comfortable grip, accentuated by the black Tsuka-Ito woven into a diamond pattern. This katana features a black and silver, almost square, cruciform guard and white dragon-shaped menuki. The gray alloy finish of the Fuchi and Kashira and the smooth brass Habaki complete this katana.
