Kazekiri Katana Sword: design and finishes
The Kazekiri (風切) or Wind Cutter katana sword features a razor-sharp Damascus steel blade with a genuine midare-shaped clay hamon. Its rosewood saya, sublimated by engraved gold rings on the tips, is noble and traditional. The tsuka made of real white ray skin, wrapped in black tsuka-ito in a diamond pattern, offers a solid grip. The cross-shaped guard, with its gilded, engraved contours, features black floral motifs that flow harmoniously onto the matching fuchi. The gilded kashira reinforcement and smooth brass habaki complete this masterpiece. Its name, Kazekiri, evokes the power and precision of its blade, capable of slicing through even the smallest molecule in the air.
