Sakura Katana Sword: design and finishes

The Sakura katana sword (桜) also known as the Cherry Tree is characterized by its T10 full tang steel, featuring an authentic hamon with a fascinating pattern. The red wooden saya gives this katana its unique, traditional feel. The rounded brass guard, decorated with gold edging and an engraved dragon, blends harmoniously with the gold Fuchi and engraved black Kashira.

The thick black Sageo and white ray-skin Tsuka, completed by a black Tsuka-ITO woven in a diamond pattern, provide a comfortable, aesthetic grip. The black dragon-shaped menuki and smooth brass Habaki bear witness to an impeccable finish. The name Sakura, meaning “cherry tree”, pays tribute to the color of its wood.
